6.14 Playing Elements Consecutively (v2.0)

In just:live, by default each clip in the timeline does not start automatically when an earlier clip finishes. Instead, just:live goes back to the default output defined by your system administrator (black or live signal pass through).

Each clip waits at the CTI line for you to issue a play command – or trigger – for it to start. Thus, if you load five video clips into the timeline you will also issue five play commands to play them out – unless you define "Finished Actions". A play command is only valid if nothing is currently playing and there is an element waiting at the CTI line to be played out.

However, if you want to play several elements with a single play command, you can do this by:

select all elements you would like to finish with a Play next command
change the "Finished Action" attribute for the selected elements in the inspector to "Play Next"
start the play out

Playing a folder like a playlist

It is also possible to play out the content of a folder like a playlist of an editing system. You can do this by:

adding all elements you would like to play out to a single folder.
bringing the elements into the order (from top to bottom) you would like to play them out.
selecting the folder in the Workbench and by activating the Playlist function in the Inspector.
clicking in the Playlist symbol next to the folder name in the Workbench.

Doing so loads all elements with the Play next finished action into the timeline.

Drag and drop of a playlist from the Library into the Workbench activates the Playlist function automatically. Turn the function in the Inspector off if needed.
