10.1 Option A: Restore Channels From Backup (v2.0)

10.1 Option A: Restore Channels From Backup (v2.0)

To recreate a channel from a channel backup, start just:connect to open the New Channel Wizard first and make sure to activate the Restore channels from backup option. Follow the guideline below to rebuild the channel.

Restore from backup

If you have reinstalled just:connect after a drive failure or in case you have started the "cold spare" just:connect on the redundant machine for the first time – and you have a channel backup available, you can use the Restore channels from Backup function to restore the channel. To do so, copy the folder with the channel file backup to the machine so you can select the folder with the backup here in the Wizard. Once you made your selection, click on Apply to rebuild the channel and to start just:connect.

Make sure to select the folder which contains the channel backup(s) and not the channel files itself. Selecting the channel will make the restore process fail.
