7.4 Schedule Events (v.5.x)

Adding Events to the Rundown

The Event Library

Click on the “Event” tab of the Library. Your system administrator should already have prepared Events for you. If this is not the case (i.e. the Event list is empty), please contact your system administrator.

Scheduling an Event item

Please refer to the Chapter 7.3 Adding Elements to your Rundown (v.5.x) for more information about how to add elements.

Scheduling Events works the same way as using Audio and GFX Graphics.

  1. Go to the “Event” tab of the Library.

  2. Drag and drop Events to the Event Layer of the Timeline to schedule it.

  3. You may also drop Events to an empty area of a Playlist or an already existing Event element in the Workbench.

  4. When the time has been reached when the Event has been scheduled, all Events within that Event will be executed. This allows you to control several video routers and send several GPI triggers at the same time.

Events are independent of other elements. That means, you can execute such an Event without the need for a Live Event. This allows you to control other systems independent of the real Playout.

  • It is not possible to add Events to the rundown whose drop point is in the past. This would change the current Playout and will therefore be rejected. A warning will be shown instead.

  • Depending on the functionality defined for the selected Event item, playing an Event item can execute one or various events at the same time. Please contact your system administrator for more info.

  • We support an extensive number of routers from different vendors using different protocols. Please → contact us directly if you would like to use a router/protocol which is currently not supported.

Rule-based Events

It is possible to execute Events based on time (called “Rules”), without the need to schedule an Event in the user interface. Please refer to Chapter 13.18 Configuring Event Devices/Presets and Rules (v.5.x) for more information about Rules.
