13.30 Restricting The Interfaces Which Can Connect To A Channel (v2.0)

By default, all interface clients can connect to a channel based on the user rights of the user they type in during login. But it is also possible to restrict the interfaces which can connect to a channel. This is useful in situations where only certain machines should get access to a channel.

  1. To define the interfaces which can access certain channels, select the channel in the Channel View.
  2.  Activate the User Interface tab.

1 Only allow the following registered user interfaces to connect: Activate this checkbox to give only the users listed below access to the selected channel.

2 Add interface: Click on the Add interface button to add a new interface, so that the machine running the interface client can then access the selected channel.

3 List of registered user interfaces:

  • Name: Lists the names of the user interfaces and allows you to change the names to make it easier to identify the client.
  • IP Address: Type in the IP address of the machine the interface client uses to connect to the machine running just:connect.
  • Repositories: Click on the Configure button to open an extra window which allows you to override the repository folders defined for this channel. Please read the chapter 13.16 Overriding The Repository Folders Of A Channel (v2.0) for more informations.
  • Advanced: In certain situations (when using 3rd party software applications for example) it may be necessary to disable the "heartbeat" sent out by the interface clients. Please → contact us before changing this setting.
