Best Practices (just:store v2.0)
Application | Recommendation |
---|---|
just:in | just:store should be configured to optimize write operations on the storage subsystem. We recommend making this change via the administration interface. We recommend a direct connection from the just:store to the just:in client machine. |
just:play | just:store should be configured to optimize read operations on the storage subsystem. We recommend making this change via the administration interface. We recommend a direct connection from the just:store to the just:Play client machine. |
Adobe® Premiere | just:store should be configured to address read and write operations equally. We recommend making this change via the administration interface. Depending on the codecs you are using we recommend a 10 GBit ethernet link for edit station connectivity. |
Apple Final Cut Pro 7 | just:store should be configured to address read and write operations equally. We recommend making this change via the administration interface. Final Cut Pro 7 should be configured to use the just:store for media only. Project files, cache files and autosave vaults should be configured to use the local disk (unless you are using flow:project). Depending on the codecs you are using we would recommend a 10 GBit ethernet link for edit station connectivity. |
Apple Final Cut Pro X | just:store should be configured to address read and write operations equally. We recommend making this change via the administration interface. If it is required to share Projects/Libraries with other editors (or if you are moving to another edit station), they can be moved onto the just:store system later. just:store is optimized for large media files so smaller files will impact the performance of the storage. Depending on the codecs you are using we recommend a 10 GBit ethernet link for edit station connectivity. |
