To obtain the appropriate professional Apple codecs (ProRes, IMX...) you need to have the same codecs installed like you can find them under /Library/QuickTime/ after installing install Final Cut Pro 7 or Final Cut Pro X on a separate editing machine. The professional codecs are also available via Run Apple's Software Update upon a new installation of Final Cut Pro X/Compressor/Motion and some other applications.Please check after the installation and download/update the latest versions of the codecs. On the editing machine the codecs should now be stored in the folder /Library/QuickTime. These codecs also need to be on the playout machine.
