just:in linux version 6 introduces an additional input mode to enhance the existing support for input sources. In addition to SDI, HDMI, NDI®, and SRT, version 6 now includes support for UDP inputs. This new input source can be seamlessly integrated just like any other input source. The functionality, handling, and visual interface of this feature remain consistent with the already established ones.

A UDP Input Channel looks similar to an SDI Input Channel but misses the Video Device related settings, and it has UDP IP and Port related settings, which will be addressed below.

Allow conversion from different modes and/or frame rates to the above video mode

Generally, a Video Mode has to be selected for a UDP Channel, as the Video Mode setting defines the output format.

Please note that Capture Presets can change the output format again, if that is the intended behaviour of such a Preset. Normally, a Capture Preset follows the Video Mode setting.

With the “Allow conversion from different modes and/or frame rates to the above video mode” setting, you can ensure that the incoming UDP stream gets converted to the given Video Mode. This means that, that an incoming NDI® signal in the format of 1080i2997, will be converted to 1080p25 (Video Mode) if this setting is enabled.

When this setting is disabled for a UDP channel, you will see a “No Signal” Error Message within Just Control.

Server IP (Host) : Port: Here the local IP address of the server has to be entered, where the UDP Source is sending the UDP stream. If required, enter a dedicated Port Number in the “Port” field.
