[JIML] READ ME v.6.x
The Just In Mac Lite application uses an online license system for activating, deactivating, and checking your license status. So, you'll need an internet connection for these actions.
Whenever you activate, deactivate, or transfer the license, you'll need to be connected to the internet.
Once activated, the application checks your licence status once a month. You can therefore use the application extensively for your “in-the-field” productions before a new licence validation check takes place over an internet connection.
Version 6.5
Supported macOS versions
The Just In Mac Lite v.6.5 application has been improved to accommodate the latest macOS features and is fully macOS Sequoia (15.x), macOS Sonoma (14.7.x), and macOS Ventura (13.7.x) certified.
Please note that the use of Apple silicon hardware is preferred and recommended!
Changes/Adjustments:
New “Local Network” Settings within macOS Sequoia (15.x)
The new Local Network Security feature in macOS Sequoia (15.x) enhances privacy and control by allowing users to manage which apps can access their local network. This feature addresses concerns over unmonitored network access, providing an extra layer of security by ensuring that only trusted applications have access to local network resources, such as printers, file-sharing devices, and other computers. In macOS Sequoia, users are prompted when an application attempts to access the local network for the first time, enabling them to allow or deny access (“System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network”).
When running the Just In Mac Lite application for the first time on macOS Sequoia you will be asked to allow it to discover and connect to devices or other applications on your network. Please click on the “Allow” button to ensure the application to connect to devices or other application on your networks.
To double-check the connection status, go to “System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network” and ensure that Just In Mac Lite is enabled.
Easy Access to the Configuration Panel
In this new version, a Gear icon has been added to the Channel Inspector. This enhancement simplifies accessing the Just Control Configuration window, allowing you to easily adjust Channel Settings or create and modify Device Presets.
Additionally, a new Uninstaller application is available within the just:in mac lite installation DMG file. Use this utility if you need to restart the configuration from scratch or to completely remove just:in mac lite from your system.
Version 6.1
Before upgrading to just:in mac lite v.6.1, please be aware of the following changes and macOS requirements:
Schedule Mode and Naming Presets
In the latest release, significant changes have been introduced to enhance the functionality of Schedule Mode. A notable adjustment is the evolution of Schedule Events naming conventions. Previously reliant on Schedule Mode variables like <Date>
, <Time>
, and <Channel>
, the new version now empowers users to leverage the extended feature set of Naming Presets within Schedule Mode.
This improvement simplifies Date and Time formatting and introduces enhanced flexibility in switching between Channel Modes. The result is a more intuitive and user-friendly experience, making scheduling and configuration tasks more streamlined than ever before. Explore these updates to unlock a smoother and more efficient Schedule Mode workflow.
