Metadata Sets can be used to customise your metadata workflow in Just Control. It is possible to display user-defined metadata fields within Just Control and to export sidecar files (XML or JSON) based on the entered data for every recorded file.
Overview
Here's a rough outline of how it works:
You select a (previously defined) Metadata Set in the Inspector.
You enter your Metadata and start the Recording.
just:in linux records the video file(s) and a corresponding Sidecar file to a user-defined location (Destination Preset).
The below picture shows how the included example is displayed in the Inspector. The naming, the number, and the type of Metadata Fields are completely user definable.
Metadata Sets
Open the Just Control Configuration panel, select a Device, and switch to the “Metadata Sets” tab.
Metadata Sets list: List of all available Metadata Sets for the selected Device. Add or remove the selected Metadata Set.
StartUpXML: Content of the selected StartUpXML column.
Extension: Choose between “xml” and “json”.
ExportXML: Content of the selected ExportXML column.
Add a new Metadata Set
Go to the “Metadata Sets” tab and use the Plus (“+”) button to add a new Metadata Set. Set a name for the new Metadata Set. Then search and choose the “StartUp- and ExportXML” paths and use the "Create" button to create the Metadata Set.
Both “StartUp- and ExportXML” XML files will be copied to the just:in linux server and can be accessed from every Just Control application connected to the server appliance.
Please verify that you have at least one Destination Preset with a Metadata Path created.
