4.1 AJA Devices (v2.5)

Open the AJA ControlPanel to configure an AJA Video Device.

The AJA ControlPanel may look differently and may offer variations in functionality depending on the driver version, the installed firmware and the hardware you are using. Always use the latest driver release.

Control

  • Default Output: choose which default output you want to have when just:out is not started.
  • Playback Timing:
    • No Reference Signal attached, DS Keyer Disabled: Free Run
    • Reference Signal attached, DS Keyer Disabled: Ref In
    • DS Keyer Enabled: Video In. Enables the Switch-To-Live functionality and removes any signal which is attached at the Ref In.

Format

  • Primary (Frame Buffer) Format: primary format of your playout. This is usually the same format you have chosen as the Output Format in just:connect. Although just:out will change the format automatically, we recommend to set the primary and – if available – the secondary format here.
  • RGB Range:
    • SD Playout: FULL
    • HD Playout: SMPTE
  • Secondary (Converted) Format: defining a secondary format allows you to get two different output formats of the same playout.

Video Setup

  • VOut Filters: Make sure the format you would like to use is activated here. This is very important especially for UHD/4K play out, because only those formats which are activated here can be selected as the output format in just:connect.
  • VANC: Activate this option to enable the AJA device to play out Closed Captions.

Conversion

The Conversion settings are the same for SD and HD.

  • Pause on: Full Frame
  • YUV-RGB Conversion:
    • Color Space: Auto
    • Gamma: Linear
