2.3 Supported Video Devices (v3.0)
Using a video device from BMD under macOS Catalina (10.15.x) on Intel-based Mac's, you MUST run just:out and just:control on separate machines, otherwise audio dropouts will occur while generating the Poster Frames or while working on Finder level.
Using an Apple Silicon based mac for the machine running just:out, AJA driver version 16.2 is recommended.
The HDMI output of the Mac can NOT be used for the broadcast output signal and one of the dedicated video devices listed below have to be used.
This chapter contains a list of supported video devices to do a playout in SD, HD or UHD. When using a Thunderbolt device from AJA, Blackmagic Design or Sonnet, please make sure that the speed of the Thunderbolt bus is at least 20 Gbit/s (i.e. Thunderbolt 2). This is especially important when playing out in UHD. Connections using 40 Gbit/s (i.e. Thunderbolt 3) are preferred.

1 Legacy. This device has been working with previous versions of Just Out but is not available for purchase from AJA/BMD any more. Please check if there are drivers available for your device supporting macOS 10.15.x (Catalina) or higher from AJA/BMD, which will make the hardware compatible with our software. At the moment we recommend AJA driver version 16.0.2 or higher, or BMD driver version 12.1.
Listed here are those UHD/4K devices which we have tested with UHD playout up to and including p30. However it is possible that other devices which also support UHD/4K will work as well.
For playout of higher frame rates in UHD, a MacPro7,1 is required
