This chapter contains a list of supported video devices to do a playout in SD, HD or UHD. When using a Thunderbolt device from AJA, Blackmagic Design or Sonnet, please make sure that the speed of the Thunderbolt bus is 20 Gbit/s (i.e. Thunderbolt 2). This is especially important when playing out in UHD.

BMD Desktop Video version 10.10 and higher is currently not compatible with our play out engine and therefore we recommend to use Desktop Driver version 10.9.12 until the problem could be solved.
- Always use the latest driver provided by the hardware vendor (unless otherwise stated).
- Listed here are all UHD/4K devices we have tested with UHD playout up to 30 fps. However it is possible that other devices which also support UHD/4K will work as well
When using just:live/play with Blackmagic devices it is not possible to use the DSK-based (Live Key) method to switch from Live Video to Video Playout. Instead the non DSK-based method can be used. In addition, the playout or pass-through of closed captions does not work with Blackmagic devices. Refer to the chapters DSK-based Switch to Live Configuration and Non DSK-based Switch to Live Configuration.
