This chapter provides an overview of the “Connections” tab.

Overview

The “Connection” tab displays all configured and enabled Devices/Channels. Within the “Connections” list you can see the Status of the Device/Channel, how many Just Control applications are currently connected to a Device/Channel, the Channel Name, and the IP Address and Port Number. To connect a Channel to the Channel Viewer Area, you can double-click (select a Channel Viewer first) on a Channel in the “Connections” list, use drag & drop, or use the swipe gesture if you are using a Magic Mouse or Trackpad.

Note that in the screenshot above, the Device called “Demo” gets connected to the Channel Viewer Area by drag & drop.

Connections Tab and Configuration Panel Correlation

The “Connections” tab is directly related to the Just Control Configuration panel, as it will only display Devices/Channels which are connected and enabled within the Just Control Configuration panel. If there are no Devices connected within the Just Control Configuration panel, you will not see any Devices or Channels in the “Connections” tab.

Connected Just Control applications

If multiple Just Control applications are connected to a Device, then there will be a numbered label beside the Device state, which indicates how many Just Control client applications are currently connected to a Device.

Please note that you can add a single Just In Engine instance to multiple Just Control applications, but it is not possible to connect a single Channel to multiple Just Control applications at the same time. If you have questions about that behaviour, please do not hesitate to contact us.
