Advanced Output Format Settings

There are several additional Channel related settings which can be used to define the final output, but also how the user interface works.

  • SD widescreen (16:9): Activate the SD widescreen (16:9) checkbox for a 16:9 channel output (SD channels only).

  • Low Latency Playout: Enable this option for the lowest latency between pressing the Play button and the actual playout of a Video. Deactivate this option when using MXF files or Videos which are taking some time to decompress like XDCam or H.264.

  • Interlaced Aware Scaling: When activated, any Video which has to be scaled (SD ↔ HD, aspect ratio conversion) will have additional interlaced-aware filtering applied to it in order to preserve the interlace fields and to improve the quality of the scaled Video.

  • Audio Multi Viewer: Here you can define how many audio channels are shown for this channel in Just Control

  • Port: Here you can define the port which is used by this particular channel. A port is an unique identifier for a network service which runs on a computer. By default the first Channel administered by just:connect uses port 5519. Additional Channels use the ports 5520, 5521, 5522 and so on.

  • Each Channel must have a different port number assigned. Using the same portnumber (for two Channels or one just:out engine) on the same machine will result in an error.

  • Make sure that your Ports are not closed on any router/ firewall which might be installed between just:connect and the interface client(s).

  • If you are not sure whether a port is used on your network, please consult your network administrator.

  • Aspect Ratio Options: Define how differences of the aspect ratio should be handled. This preset can be overwritten for each Video in the Inspector of just:live/just:play. You can also change the aspect ratio of Videos which match the engine's aspect ratio but have been saved in the wrong aspect ratio. Refer to chapter Aspect Ratio Control.
