Due to a driver issue it is currently not possible to use the “Buffered Input” setting with video devices from Blackmagic Design. We are working with Blackmagic Design to resolve the issue. Video devices from AJA (on INTEL or Apple silicon) are not affected.
When using a video device from Blackmagic Design under macOS Catalina (10.15.7) on Intel-based Macs, you MUST run Just Out and Just Control on separate machines. Otherwise audio dropouts will occur while generating the Poster Frames or while working on the Finder level.
Using an Apple silicon-based Mac for the machine running Just Out, the AJA driver version 16.2.x or higher is recommended.
The HDMI output of the Mac can NOT be used for the broadcast output signal. Please ensure that one of the dedicated video devices listed below is used.
This chapter contains a list of supported video devices for playout in SD, HD or UHD. When using a Thunderbolt device from AJA, Blackmagic Design or PCI card (in a Sonnet enclosure), please ensure that the speed of the Thunderbolt bus is at least 20 Gbit/s (i.e. Thunderbolt 2). This is especially important when playing out in UHD. Connections using 40 Gbit/s (i.e. Thunderbolt 3) are preferred.

1 Legacy. This device has been working with previous versions of Just Out but is not available for purchase from AJA/Blackmagic Design anymore. Please check if there are drivers available for your device supporting macOS Catalina (10.15.7) or higher from AJA/Blackmagic Design, which will make the hardware compatible with our software. Currently we recommend AJA driver version 16.0.3 or higher, or Blackmagic Design driver version 12.1.
2 No Support for VANC insertion (CC, OP47, SCTE).
Listed here are those UHD devices which we have tested with UHD playout up to and including p30. However, it is possible that other devices which also support UHD will work as well.
For playout of higher frame rates in UHD (up to p60), a MacPro7,1 or an Apple silicon-based Mac is required.
