Before you begin make sure that you have OS X 10.10.5/10.11 or higher installed as well as the current drivers from Blackmagic Design (http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support).  → Blackmagic Design.

Note

live:cut version 1.4.1 will ONLY run on OS X 10.10.5/10.11 or higher!

To install live:cut 1.4.1 drag and drop the LiveCut installer icon onto the Applications folder and click Agree to accept the license agreement.

For NEW installations of live:cut

1.4.1:  Navigate to the

  1. → Download live:cut from our helpdesk. It is part of the just:in installer disk image.
  2. Open the just:in installer disk image.
  3. Drop the "LiveCut" icon onto the "Applications" folder below.
  4. Navigate to the folder /Applications/LiveCut
folder
  1. and double-click on Just In Engine QuickTime to initialize the software packages. You will be asked to update your system and to allow access to system resources such as Apple Calendar. Confirm all of them by clicking OK and by entering your credentials when asked.

. To perform an upgrade install, you can follow the same steps above. Drag the LiveCut installer package to the Applications folder

  2. Open the just:in installer disk image.
  3. Drop the "LiveCut" icon onto the "Applications" folder below and confirm that you want to replace
(Replace All) an older version of LiveCut

If you're planning to connect to a vision mixer or switcher other than a Blackmagic Design ATEM, then you need to install the USB drivers for the ToolsOnAir GPI Box USB interface (available separately). You can find this driver in the Just In installer -> Additional Content folder. 

 

Where to look for live:cut v.1.4.1 components after the installation process

The live:cut installation process installs following components:

  • LiveCut: /Applications/LiveCut/LiveCut.app
  • Just In Engine QuickTime: /Applications/LiveCut/Just In Engine QuickTime.app
  • ToolsOnAir GPI Box drivers: Just In installer -> Additional Content/Service USB Drivers/
