Metadata eMetadata Sets can be used to customise your metadata workflow in Just Control. It is possible to display user-defined metadata fields within Just Control and to export sidecar files (XML or JSON) based on the entered data for every recorded file.

Overview

Here 's a rough outline on is a brief overview of how it works:

  1. You select Select a (previously defined) Metadata Set in the Inspector.

  2. You enter Enter or choose your Metadata and start the Recording.

  3. just:in mac records the video file(s) and a corresponding Sidecar file to a user-defined location (Destination Preset).

This figure picture shows how the included example would be is displayed in the Inspector. The naming, the number, and the type of Metadata Fields are completely user definable.

Metadata Sets

Open the Just Control Configuration Panel, select a Device, and switch to the “Metadata Sets” Tab tab.

  1. Metadata Sets List: List of all available Metadata Sets for the selected Device. Add and or remove (selected) Metadata Set.

  2. StartUpXML: Content of the selected StartUpXML.

  3. Extension: Choose between xml and json.

  4. ExportXML: Content of the selected ExportXML.

Add a new Metadata Set

Go to the Metadata Sets Tab Sets” tab and use the Plus (“+”) button to add a new Metadata Set. Set a name for the new Metadata Set. Then search and choose the StartUp- and ExportXMLExportXML” paths and use the "Create" -Button button to create the Metadata Set.

After creating the Metadata Set the content of both , StartUpXML and ExportXML, files can be seen when selecting the Metadata Set.

If you want to copy a Metadata Set from one machine to another, then just go to “/Library/Application Support/ToolsOnAir/Just In” Inand copy the specific xml-Preset from the StartUp- and ExportXML folder” folders.

Please make sure verify that you have at least one Destination Preset with a Metadata Path created.
