When using macOS Ventura (13.6.x) or , macOS Sonoma (14.6.x) or higher:

  1. Open the Apple Terminal application.

  2. Enter "sudo spctl --master-disable" (without quotes) and press the Enter key.

  3. You will be asked for the admin password. Enter it and press the Enter key.

  4. Quit the Apple Terminal application.

  5. Open the System Settings application.

  6. Click on “Security & Privacy”.

  7. Authorise yourself to Unlock the pane.

  8. Verify that the “App Store and identified developers” option is selected.

Quitting a Just Out engine will stop the current playout.

In case If you stop a channel Channel with a redundant engine defined - using the Just Control configuration Configuration window - only the main engine will be stopped, and the redundant engine will remain on airON AIR.

In case you stop a channel which has the Automated Failover Control option activated - using the Just Control configuration Configuration window - only the main engine will be stopped, failover switches to the redundant engine, and the redundant engine will remain on airON AIR.

3. Update the Operating System and the Video Device Drivers

Warning

Playout of realtime GFX templates can failmay encouter failure, due to a bug an inconsistency in macOS Sonoma. Because of this we We recommend that all customers using who utilize an INTEL-based Mac and realtime GFX continue to stay with utilize macOS 13.6.x Ventura until Apple solves resolves the issue.

  1. Check which OS version is recommended for the new playout software version from the installer. With version 5.0 we generally support macOS Monterey or higher, which you can download from Apple's App Store.

  2. If you currently run macOS Monterey (12.7.x), go to the “Apple” menu, select “System Preferences” and click on “Software Updates”. On macOS Ventura (13.6.x) or macOS Sonoma (14.6.x), go to the “Apple” menu, select “System Settings”, and click on “General → Software Update”.

  3. Make sure to install all available updates for your software until there are no updates left.

  4. Uninstall the current version using the AJA/BMD Blackmagic Design Uninstall Application and restart the Mac.

  5. Install the latest Video device driver version and all other drivers you may have to update.

  6. Restart the Mac and make sure the Firmware of your Video device is the latest version available.
