macOS Gatekeeper/Security & Privacy
Before the installation can start, it may be required necessary to disable Apple's macOS Gatekeeper temporarily. When opening one of the playout applications for the first time, it will be verified by the operating system. Usually, this process takes up to three minutesis handled rapidly. If the verification should not be possibleprocess is stalled, please follow those stepsthe steps below:
When using macOS Monterey (12.7.x):
Open the Apple Terminal application.
Enter "sudo spctl --master-disable" (without quotes) and press the Enter key.
You will be asked for the admin password. Enter it and press the Enter key.
Close Quit the Apple Terminal application.
Go to Open the System Preferences application.
Click on “Security & PrivacyPrivacy”.
Authorise yourself to Unlock the preference pane.
At the bottom of the General “General” tab select Allow apps downloaded from Anywhere (versions older than macOS Monterey) or , select “Apps Store and identified developersdevelopers” (see below).
Close the System Preferences and open the Just Playout applications.
You may revert the setting after that using “sudo spctl --master-enable” (without quotes).
When using macOS Ventura (13.6.x) or macOS Sonoma (14.x):
Open the Apple Terminal application.
Enter "sudo spctl --master-disable" (without quotes) and press the Enter key.
You will be asked for the admin password. Enter it and press the Enter key.
Quit the Apple Terminal application.
Open the System Settings application.
Click on “Security & Privacy”.
Authorise yourself to Unlock the pane.
Verify that the “App Store and identified developers” option is selected.
