Cables transmit data between Units and are also used to connect Trigger Ports. Ports are the connecting points of Cables.

Impossible Connections

Although onCore Designer does type conversion automatically, not all types are compatible with each other. You cannot – for example – connect a String Port to an Image Port (or vice versa). onCore Designer refuses impossible connections, so you will not be able to connect Ports which are not compatible.

Connecting a Cable

  1. Click on the source Port.
  2. Draw the Cable to the destination Port.
  3. Click the destination Port to connect the Cable.

Cables can also be drawn "reverse style", i.e. from destination to source. The procedure is the same.

Removing a Cable

  1. Click the Cable you want to disconnect.
  2. It will be highlighted in orange.
  3. Press the backspace key.

Alternatively you can grab the Cable on the destination port and just release it on some empty area of the Workflow View.

Rewiring a Cable

  1. Click the Cable you want to rewire.
  2. Connect it to another destination Port.
