General
Version 5.5 introduces Event Presets that can perform different recording or notification tasks as well as trigger or control qualified hardware devices. With this useful workflow addition, one could, for example, start a backup recording on qualified hardware recorders such as the Ki Pro from AJA and the HyperDeck from Blackmagic Design or create and make REST API calls to 3rd party system in a very easy and straightforward way. The already well known ability to trigger Bash Scripts (previously named Tasks) is of course still available and it got even easier to use.
As UNIX shell scripts can work on a very deep system level, ToolsOnAir does not take any responsibility for improperly written shell scripts.
Events (based on Bash Scripts) may limit the performance of the Just In Engine application. When using this feature always test them thoroughly before going into production or critical environments. Contact your ToolsOnAir reseller or use our support system if you need any assistance.
Open the Just Control Configuration Panel, select a Device and switch to the “Events” tab.
To make any changes you have unlock the Just Control Configuration Panel.
Devices & Presets Tab: Here you can switch between the “Devices” and “Presets” tab. Event Devices have to be created in order to created Recording Events. Devices represent the connection to a hardware device (such as an AJA Ki Pro, KUMO or Blackmagic Design HyperDeck or Videohub) or enable the ability to create Events based on Apple Scripts or Bash Scripts. Events get triggered by the Just In Engine application, once selected within Just Control (Channel Inspector).
Event Devices: Area for initial Device settings.
List of current Devices: List of Event Devices which are currently available for the selected Device. By pressing “Add…”, it is possible to create a new Device based on the settings from the Event Devices section (2).
Devices
just:in mac v.5.5 supports the following Devices:
Presets
Open the Just Control Configuration Panel and select a Device, open to the “Events” tab and switch to the “Presets” tab.
Here Event Presets, based on the already created Event Devices, can be created. An Event Preset can be a single Event (e.g. a Script), or multiple Events (e.g multiple Scripts) or a combination of Events (e.g. an AJA Ki Pro command and a Script). In order to create an Event Preset, press the “Add Preset”-button. Then a new window appears, where a Preset name can be set and the actual Event Preset can be created (based on the existing Event Devices).
