13.1 Adding or Removing an Online or Offline Channel (v2.5)

Adding an Online Channel

An Online Channel is a Channel which has a just:out engine assigned. It can therefore be used for the final output.

  1. To add a new Online Channel click on the New Channel button in the upper left.
  2. Configure the Channel using the New Channel Wizard like described in the chapter just:connect Basic Setup.

Adding an Offline Channel

In some situations it is useful to have a Channel which has no just:out engine assigned to it. Such a Channel is usually used to build a Playlist, which then is transferred to an active Online Channel using the watch folder functionality or a Playlist Repository folder.

An Offline Channel should have the same attributes like the Online Channel the Playlists are made for.

  1. To build an Offline Channel based on an existing Online Channel, select an Online Channel in the Channel View.
  2. Click the Offline Channel button.
  3. A new instance of the selected Channel will be added to the Channel list.


Removing a Channel

This action will delete the Channel file which is saved at /Library/Application Support/ToolsOnAir/Just Connect. This action cannot be undone.

  1. Select the Channel you would like to delete in the Channel View of just:connect.
  2. Press the backspace key. An acknowledgement window will appear.
  3. Accept the warning by clicking the Remove button to delete the channel immediately.

In case there is no other channel left, you can restart just:connect now to open the New Channel Wizard to generate a new channel.
