4.6 Play Out Fill & Key with a Video Device (v2.5)
Most devices from AJA and Blackmagic with at least 2 SDI outputs allow to play out Fill & Key, which is useful in situations where the final mixdown should be done using a production mixer. Please contact AJA or Blackmagic directly to find out if your video device does support this function with the output format of your channel.
These windows may look differently and may offer variations in functionality depending on the driver version, the installed firmware and the hardware you are using.
AJA Devices
- Open the AJA ControlPanel.
- Select the SDI Out tab.
- Select Video+Key for SDI Output 1 and SDI Output 2. This option is only selectable when your device supports Fill & Key.
In case the fill and key signal are not generated correctly. try to change the SDI outputs from "Auto" or "3Gb" to DL.
Blackmagic Devices
- Open the Blackmagic LiveKey application which comes with the drivers of your BMD device.
- Select External Key.
just:connect Live SDI Input Configuration to Play Out Fill & Key
- Open just:connect.
- Open the Advanced Output Format settings of the desired Channel.
- At the top there is the Live SDI Input Configuration.
- Select With DSK, default pass-through.
- This will allow the just:out engine to send transparency information to the video device.
