Due to licensing restrictions we are not allowed to ship any codecs along with our products. In order to obtain the appropriate professional Apple codecs (ProRes, IMX...) you need to have the same codecs installed like you can find them under /Library/QuickTime/ after installing Final Cut Pro 7 or Final Cut Pro X on a editing machine. The professional codecs are also available via Apple's Software Update upon a new installation of Final Cut Pro X/Compressor/Motion and some other applications.

Please check regularly for new codec updates on Apple's support site or via the Software Update mechanism built-into OS X. Please note that this update installer will check for an already installed version of Final Cut Pro 7 or Final Cut Pro X.

In order to be able to play out AVID compressed movies, please download and install the AVID LE/PE codecs which can be downloaded from the Avid website or which come with your AVID software.
