| - Start the Just In Engine QuickTime engine and the LiveCut GUI. Start the LiveCut GUI application.
- Enter the desired values for "Name", "Scene" and "Take".
- Choose a Project Setting if available.
- Hit the "OK" button to confirm and continue to the LiveCut interface.

| - Open the Just In Channels window with "Cmd + 2".
- Open the Connect to Just In Channels window ("Cmd + 3"), select
- the desired channels and click on "Connect".
- The Just In Channels window will now display all selected channels.
- Choose the desired Timecode Source, Capture – 1 settings and Destination – 1 settings.
- Press the "Record" button.

| When you press the "Record", LiveCut will do the following: - Create a new LiveCut file (in the 1 project folder).
- Trigger the Just In Engine QuickTime engine to start recording.
- Start the EDL event recording process.
- Stop the recording, once the "Stop" button is pressed.
- The XML is automatically exported to your NLE of choice, opened and made ready for final trimming.
- LiveCut will increase the "Take" amount by 1, and wait for the Just In Engine QuickTime engine to get ready again (indicated in the status area).
- Start a new recording (new take), once the "Record" button is pressed again.
