[JIL] Overview v.5.5

In the following chapters you will learn how to work with the Just Control application and how to use it’s features in easy and straight forward way.

Users and Templates

Upon launch of Just Control you will see a login screen. Here you can either use with the default user, where you simply press the Login button to move on, or you can enter a new user name and/or password to create a new user.

Setting a password is optional (can be changed later).

Channel View Area and Inspector

The Just Control application consists of two main parts, the Channel Viewer Area (1) and the Inspector (2) on the right hand side of the User Interface. Tabs within the Inspector can be used to access different options and settings very easily. The Channel connection process (“Connections” Tab) is available within the Inspector as well and enables a very easy and straight forward process to connect Channels to dedicated Channel Viewers.

Channel Viewer Area Layout

The layout of the Channel Viewer Area (1) can be customised by the operator, which means it can look different on every machine and for every operator. The Channel layout, among other settings, can be saved in Templates and each User can have multiple Templates.

Users can have unlimited Templates. Users and Templates can be managed within the Preferences of Just Control.

The Inspector

Within the Inspector (2) you can:

  • adjust Channel Settings (Settings Tab)

  • create and adjust Channel Groups (Groups Tab)

  • see all available Devices and Channels and connect them to the Channel Viewer Area (Connections Tab)

  • work with Adobe Premiere Pro Markers (Markers Tab)

When the Inspector is closed, you can see different icons (top to bottom: Settings, Groups, Connections, Markers). Click on one of them to access the desired Tab directly. The last opened Tab is highlighted.
