7.11 Adding A Pre-Saved Playlist To An Existing Playlist

It is possible to add a pre-saved playlist to a playlist already scheduled by using drag and drop.

  • Drag and drop from the library to the calendar view: This will add the content at the end of the playlist.
  • Drag and drop directly into the workbench or the timeline: This allows you to precisely define where the content of the playlist is being dropped.
  • Drag and drop directly into the workbench or the timeline while holding down the cmd-key: This splits the playlist at the desired dropping position and generates a new playlist in between the two parts.

You will get a warning when dropping a playlist is not possible because a graphic element is played at that position.
  • Items from the "Video" tab of the library can only be scheduled onto the Video (or FX) layer, items from the "Graphics" tab can only be scheduled onto an FX layer and items from the "Event" tab can only be scheduled onto the Event layer. Playlists from the "Playlists" tab of the library can be dropped into the calendar view, or between two movies in the workbench or the timeline.
  • It is not possible to add playlists to the rundown whose drop point is in the past. This would change the current playout and will therefore be rejected. A warning will be shown instead.
