13.19 Restricting the Interfaces which can connect to a Channel (v3.0)

Before proceeding you must stop the channel by deactivating the checkbox in front of it. Stopping the channel will also stop the Just Out engine and therefore the final output.

By default, all interface clients can connect to a Channel based on the configured user rights. It is also possible to restrict the interfaces which are able to connect to a Channel. This is useful in situations where only certain machines should get access to a Channel. This can be done in the User Interfaces tab.

  1. Select the desired Channel.

  2. Go to the User Interfaces tab.

  3. Only allow the following registered user interfaces to connect: Activate this checkbox to enable user interface connection restrictions.

  4. Add interface: Clicking this button adds a new interface to the list below. The machine running the interface client can then access the selected Channel.

  5. List of registered user interfaces:

  • Name: Lists the names of the interfaces which are allowed to connect to the selected Channel.

  • IP Address: The IP address of the machine the interface client uses to connect to the machine running just:connect.

  • Repositories: Click the Configure button to open a new window, which allows you to override the Repositories of the selected Channel.

  • Advanced: In certain situations (when using 3rd party software applications for example) it may be necessary to disable the heartbeat sent out by the interface clients. Please → contact us before changing this setting.

  • Activate the checkbox in front of the channel to start the channel and to take over the changes you made.

  • The channel will be removed from the multi viewer interface and you have to add it to a viewer again by drag and drop of the channel to a viewer

→ Use the sidebar to navigate.
