Stopping and starting an Engine

In order to be able to do changes to an Engine or a Channel, it needs to be stopped first. This can be done by stopping the Channel, even in case the engine is running on another machine.

Stop an engine: Stop the desired Channel by deactivating the checkbox in front of it. Stopping a Channel will also stop the Primary Just Out engine and therefore the final output.

The just:out engine will automatically restart in idle mode and wait for the operator to start the channel again.

Start an engine: Start the desired Channel by activating the checkbox in front of it. Starting a Channel will also start the Just Out engine and therefore the playout will resume.

Once done, close the configuration window and drag the Channel from the Connections tab to the Multi-viewer area.

Deleting an Engine

Deleting an engine is useful in situations where an existing engine will be replaced by a new engine running on another machine.

  1. Stop the desired Channel by deactivating the checkbox in front of it. Stopping a Channel will also stop the Main Just Out engine and therefore the final output.

  2. Select the Channel in the Devices & Channels list.

  3. Click on the Layers & Engines tab.

  4. Select an existing engine and choose Delete engine in the just:out Engine column.
