Assigning an Engine to a Channel using 2N Redundancy
It is possible to assign an a Just Out engine as the redundant engine using the 2N “2N” setup. In such environmentsthis configuration, each Channel has a Primary engine and a dedicated Redundant engine assigned to it, where both Just Out engines are playing out the same content at the same time.
Go to the Advanced “Advanced” tab.
Activate the Redundancy “Redundancy” checkbox.
Select “Full (2N)”.
Go to the “Layers & EnginesEngines” tab.
On the right side there's a column called , look for the column named “Redundant just:out EngineEngine”.
Click on “Select Engine…Engine…” under the “Redundant just:out EngineEngine” tab and choose the Engine Just Out engine you would like to assign to this layer Layer.
Repeat this for each Layer which that has no Just Out engine assigned.

Because you selected “Full (2N)” as redundancy type, you can assign the same Just Out only once engine to a Channel only once. |
Assigning an Engine to a Channel using N+1 Redundancy
It is possible to assign the same Engine Just Out engine to several Channels as the Redundant Engine using the “N+1 1” setup. In such environmentsconfigurations, several various Channels are sharing share the same Redundant Engine (which helps to save costs Just Out engine (cost-effective). This implies that only one Primary Engine Just Out engine can fail at a time.
Go to the Advancedthe “Advanced” tab.
