Adding a Layer

You can add new Video, FX, one Simple Graphics (SFX), Event or Audio Layers to an already existing Channel. This is primarily useful during testing to find out how many Layers are needed to do the final playout. Once a Channel is activated using the activation code, the number of Layers will be adjusted automatically and only additional Audio Layers can be added.

...

  1. Stop the desired Channel by deactivating the checkbox in front of it. Stopping a Channel will also stop the Just Out engine and therefore the final output.

  2. Select the Channel in the Devices & Channels list.

  3. Click on the Layers & Engines tab.

  4. Click on the New Layer button and select the kind of Layer you would like to add.

  5. Make sure to assign an engine to the new Layer, like described in https://toolsonair.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TST/pages/edit-v2/3580596303?draftId=2736390260&draftShareId=309e1151-0588-4df5-9918-74d7d017c716

  6. Activate the checkbox in front of the Channel to start it again and to take over the changes you made.

  7. Close the configuration window and drag the Channel from the Connections tab to the Multi-viewer area.

Note

Once a just:live/just:play user interface has connected to the Channel, the new Layer is immediately available. Nevertheless, all existing Playlists must be remade to take over the new Layer, except for the Simple Graphics (SFX) layer, which can be used also for existing playlists. No new element can be dropped into the new Layer of all existing Playlists.

Removing a Layer

This is primarily useful during testing to find out how many Layers are needed to do the final playout.
