Hardware & Software Requirements

Macintosh Model

Mac Pro, Mac mini, Mac Studio, iMac1, MacBook Pro1, MacBook Air1.

RAM

4 8 GB minimum, 12 16 GB recommended.

GPU 2

AMD, APPLE Apple silicon GPU, NVIDIA and Intel GPUs are supported. Refer to chapter Supported GPUs for further information.

Operating System

macOS 10.15.x, macOS 11.6.x or highermacOS 12.x
Administrator account required for installation and configuration.

Video Devices

AJA and Blackmagic Design video devices are supported. Refer to chapter Supported Video Devices for further information.

Optional

Sonnet (3rd gen) xMacTM mini Server or Sonnet RackMacTM Pro hardwarexMac mini Server (with TB 3 connectors) or Sonnet DuoModo Rackmount/Desktop systems.

1 Testing only. When using a Mac with a switchable graphics card make sure to change deselect the graphics card setting Automatic graphics switching optionin the Energy Saver/Battery preference pane to Higher Performance.

Although it is possible to operate some Macs without a display attached to the graphics card, we strongly recommend to attach a simple HDMI display emulator or an EDID/DDC emulator like the Lindy EDID/DDC Emulator (when using a KVM system) on the machine running Just Out.
