macOS

There are two ways to connect your Mac with just:store:methods to mount sharepoints with a Mac:

  • Connecting to a just:store system directly using the macOS Finder.

  • Using our just:mount application to streamline the sharepoint management mounting process. 

Note

The following instructions presume that the just:store system has been set up properly and that you have the Protocol and the IP Address of the just:store system you want to connect to.

Mounting Sharepoints with the macOS Finder

Connecting via the macOS Finder ejects all mounted sharepoints upon a restart of your Mac.

  1. Make sure Finder is the active app.

  2. Click on the Go menu.

  3. Select the Connect to Server... command (shortcut command + K).

  4. In the Connect to Server window, enter the Protocol of your choice (afp, smb, nfs), followed by "://" and the the IP Address of the just:store system you want to connect to. If you don't know the Protocol or the IP Address of the just:store system please consult your system administrator.

    Please note that when using NFS the path is in following notation: nfs://[IP]/media/RAID[NR]/[Share]

    • [IP] → IP Address of the just:store system.

    • [NR] → RAID number.

    • [Share] → Name of the sharepoint.

  5. Press the Connect button.

  6. Accept the dialog by clicking the Connect button.

  7. Select the desired sharepoint and press the OK button. Afterwards the sharepoint should be displayed in the sidebar of any Finder window and can be accessed right away.

Mounting Sharepoints with the just:mount Application

  1. Download and install just:mount.

  2. Open Just Mount.

  3. Press the Add button.

  4. Enter the SMB or AFP connection credentials. Leave Username and Password blank if you want to use 'guest'. Press the Add button afterwards.

  5. Select the desired Connection in the Connections list and press the Connect button.

  6. The sharepoints will be displayed in the Sharepoints list. Change the Protocol if desired and then use the respective Mount buttons to mount/unmount the sharepoint(s).

Windows

Currently we do not offer a just:store sharepoint mounting application for Windows. We suggest using Microsoft Explorer.

The following instructions presume that the just:store system has been set up properly and that you have the Protocol and the IP address of the just:store system you want to connect to.

Using Microsoft Explorer

  1. In the sidebar of an Explorer window right click This PC and select Map network drive…

  2. Select the Drive letter and enter the Folder (i.e. hostname or IP address) followed by the sharepoint name.

    Also enable the Reconnect at sign-in and Connect using different credentials options.

  3. Alternatively you may click the Browse… button to select the sharepoint. Press the OK button afterwards.

  4. Press the Finish button.

  5. Enter the network credentials in the popup. Activate the Remember my credentials checkbox.

  7. The sharepoint should now be mounted under This PC → Network locations.
